An Urban Picture of Britain. And a rural one too. Fabulously framed shot.
Britain in 2007. A Portrait a Day from photographers around the country

6:40pm
Griff spent a day with a fellow photographer wandering round Leeds asking people to take their photo, taking advantage of the good light and good weather.
This lovely intimate shot of an interracial couple is a great representation of our cities today.

Arthur's Arrival/My Grandpa
I had to blog these two together, showing each endof four generationsof a family. Such a perfect capture of various stages of life. This is the best newborn baby photo I've ever seen, wonderful capture of the essence of that first moment of life.
The kid's great-grandpa shows us his personlity too, enjoying life all the way through.
Portobello not Portofino
And in real life, people enjoying Britain as it is. No need for fairs or excuses to enjoy the open air.
Nottingham
Loving the people in funny outfits this week. He better finish that pipe before the smoking ban starts.
Vaisakhi
Vaishaki is a Sikh festival - I need to find out what it celebrates (new year maybe?) and I'll link it here.
Anyway if you ever hear loud drums banging and see guys in colourful orange turbans handing out crisps and other food in various places round Britain, you'll know you've come across a Vaishaki parade.
Dorset Fayre
With the start of the summer season, Britain really comes into its own with all kinds of festivals and fayres round the country.
This lady is at a fair in Dorset - or does she wear that outfit every day?

Windsor
In our final look at young people around Britain this week, is this guy in Windsor. I'd really like to be able to write more about who and why but I don't know - maybe someone knows what the uniform is?
friendship
My favourite thing about Britain is diversity, I don't think I'll be able to find a better example than this.
GROUSE
Another way to spend the weekend. I like the way the advert ties it to a place - definitely Scotland.
The Stare
This week, a look at some young people round the country.
Wonderful timeless stuff here, these beautiful girls look like classic "English Roses" - don't they?

Lymington Ice Cream man
Lymington is a pretty chi-chi place, you could spend a few hundred grand on a yaught, a couple of mill on a New Forest home, or a couple of quid on a lovely ice cream cone from this nice man.
New Milton
An idyllic Sunday morning, about 9am. One of those April weekends when it seemed like summer was going to stay forever.
I NEED a beach hut, NOW. Enough of life in London.
Mad dogs and Englishmen ........
And in direct contrast, another fantastic portrait from Tony. Different ways of people enjoying the sunshine.
The Rub of the Green I
Moving slightly up the M4 back into England, we have this partial body portrait.
It's a perfect contrast to the portraits of Britain in 2007. It is 2007, but it could be any year really.
Cardiff vs. Swansea
This is a terrific shot. It really epitomises Wales for me - people of all ages enjoying the rugby. Is Wales and Rugby too much of a cliché? I hope not!
